How much does a xeriscape cost?

Most xeriscape projects we build run between $6,000 and $14,000. Your price depends on the size of the area, lawn removal, rock and mulch choices, plant count, boulders, and drip irrigation. Every quote is itemized, so you'll see exactly what you're paying for.

Will my yard just look like a bunch of rock?

No. A good xeriscape mixes flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, shrubs, trees, boulders, and mulch beds, with rock used as an accent, not the whole yard. The goal is a landscape that looks full and intentional while using a fraction of the water.

How much water will I save?

Removing 2,500 ft² of lawn can save about 115,000 gallons of water a year and roughly 11 hours of mowing and lawn care each season. Plants are watered with drip irrigation, which delivers water straight to the roots instead of spraying it across open ground.

Does a xeriscape still need irrigation?

Yes, especially the first two seasons while plants establish. We install drip irrigation to every plant, program your controller before we leave, and walk you through how it works.

How long before it looks filled in?

 Plants look good on day one and fill in over one to two growing seasons. You'll see the biggest jump in growth by the second spring.

Is it really low maintenance?

 Much lower than lawn. There's no mowing, fertilizing, or weekly watering. Expect some seasonal work: cutting back perennials and grasses in spring and pulling the occasional weed. We use commercial-grade landscape fabric, steel edging, and quality mulch to keep that work to a minimum.

Are there rebates for replacing my lawn?

 Many Northern Colorado cities and water districts offer turf-replacement rebates. Check with your city's water department before your project starts. Some programs require approval before the lawn is removed.

 Yes. We put together the drawings, material details, and plant lists most HOA and ACC boards ask for, so your submission is complete the first time.
